DOGU™

SCULPTING WITH LIGHT

Translucent, sculptural and simply exceptional – all three words characterise the Dogu™ lamp by the Danish artist, ceramist and designer Michael Geertsen. The creative Dane is inspired by the interplay between sculpture and functionality and this outstanding pendant is no exception. The name Dogu is Japanese and refers to old traditional figurines portraying animals and humanoids – much like his own art does.

Dogu’s shade is made of bone china – an exclusive material created from actual bone powder and white clay. The translucent material ensures that the light projects through the shade and renders the lamp light, warm and extremely cosy at the same time, a feature fit for lighting up the dark hours especially in the North.

"The charming irregularities found in bone china have a lot in common with the beauty marks we experience on natural leather hides. They underline the personality of the material and ensures that no two lamps are the same."
