MOESGAARD MUSEUM

Aarhus, Denmark By Henning Larsen Architects

A PART OF THE LANDSCAPE

Henning Larsen Architects used the surrounding nature to interpret the new museum building at Moesgaard Museum from 2014. Located just south of Aarhus, Denmark, the landscape embracing the museum is rural yet calm and contributes to the majestic presentation of the architectural masterpiece.

Moesgaard Museum is the venue for prehistoric and ethnographic exhibitions and with more than 16,000 m² (172,000 ft²) the museum tells stories of ancient times in modern, mesmerising surroundings. Besides inhabiting a trinity of nature, culture, and history Moesgaard houses great design. The museum café invites guests to have a seat in Arne Jacobsen’s Grand Prix™ chairs and dinner is presented under the lights of KAISER idell™ pendants beautifully turning high ceilings into intimate spaces.
