At home with: Isabelle Olson and Matthaeus Krenn

Originally designed by A. Quincy Jones, the home, aptly named Twin Gable House after its two pitched roofs, is an Eichler developed after WWII. Spread across 2,028-square feet (188-square-metres), it’s set against a lush green landscape, with the living space centered at the heart. Almost every room in the house opens onto the garden and pool area, blurring the lines between inside and out.

The goal was to peel back the layers of remodels that had occurred over the previous decades and bring a clean, modern aesthetic to life. Bright, white walls and sliding glass doors give the home a minimalistic edge, while bursts of colour offer a sense of personality.

Inside, the living space is pictured with Poul Kjærholm’s PK22™ chair – a subtle silhouette that has become a true design classic. Elsewhere, the iconic PK33™ three-legged stool, also by Poul Kjærholm, sits pretty in matt chrome, while the Ikebana vase by Jamie Hayon adds a touch of Japanese-inspired beauty to the space.

The Series 7™ chair, as well as the Series 7™ children’s chair, features in the home. An icon in modern furniture history, both chairs were designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1955. Its unique shape is timeless and incredibly versatile, displaying character without overpowering the eye.
