EXPRESSIONS OF CHARACTER is an exhibition exploring the immutable relationship between art and design. At this year’s 3daysofdesign, Fritz Hansen presents a unique journey through a series of artistic installations of iconic pieces. The installations expose the base elements of design through shapes, materials, colours and light, and take visitors on a journey through iconic and contemporary expressions as never seen before.
The exhibition takes place across the indoor and outdoor areas of Charlottenborg in central Copenhagen. Home of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, the exhibition is set in the very rooms where the most influential names in Danish design received their formative education. Woven throughout the installations, visitors will feel the inspiration drawn from Scandinavian minimalistic architectural expression and a focus on the raw materials and principles of Danish design.
EXPRESSIONS OF CHARACTER features the works of visionaries like Poul Kjærholm and Arne Jacobsen together with contemporary designers including Jaime Hayon, Cecilie Manz, and KiBiSi. Visitors can experience the new Skagerak by Fritz Hansen outdoor furniture, as well as exclusive previews of Fritz Hansen’s Autumn 2023 collection. A large outdoor lounge area in the Charlottenborg courtyard welcomes visitors to relax and enjoy a break on the new Skagerak by Fritz Hansen outdoor furniture collection.
