Founded in Denmark in 1872, Fritz Hansen is a global leader in indoor and outdoor furniture, lighting, accessory design and production. The brand has collaborated with Arne Jacobsen, Cecilie Manz, Hans J. Wegner, Piero Lissoni, Jaime Hayon and Poul Kjærholm, among others. Today Fritz Hansen designs are sold in more than 85 countries through 2,000 points of sale, including flagship stores and showrooms in Copenhagen, New York, London, Seoul, Shanghai, Munich, and Tokyo. The company employs 310 people worldwide and maintains its headquarters north of Copenhagen, serving design-passionate customers through contract and retail.

THE AUGUSTINUS FOUNDATION AND THE OBEL FAMILY FOUNDATION

Fritz Hansen A/S is owned by Skandinavisk Holding A/S which is 65 percent owned by Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker Akts. and 35 percent by C.W. Obel A/S.

Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker Akts. is an investment company with considerable interests within the Danish business sector; it has an expansive portfolio that includes ownership shares of many successful and iconic Danish businesses. Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker Akts. is owned by The Augustinus Foundation, one of the larger private cultural foundations in Denmark. The foundation's funds are divided between a variety of social causes, such as ‘Knowledge & Education’, with most of its philanthropic efforts focused toward ‘Arts & Culture’.

C.W. Obel A/S is an investment company with a long withstanding history of active ownership in Danish businesses. The company focuses on investment in healthy businesses as well as real estate of high architectural standards in premium locations. C.W. Obel A/S is owned by Det Obelske Familiefond, a foundation whose purpose is to ensure C.W. Obel A/S the best possible conditions as well as support the Obel family and various non-profit efforts. The foundation's non-profit funds go towards development in Northern Jutland, arts and mental health efforts among youth.
