GUT OGGAU X FRITZ HANSEN
Fritz Hansen has joined forces with Austrian winegrower Gut Oggau to create a set of four Grand Prix™ chairs dyed in wine. The stained wood chairs – in red shades ranging from light to dark – were thoughtfully conceived from a mutual love of nature, and for an audience that appreciates and prioritises quality.
The Grand Prix chair was designed by Arne Jacobsen
and first introduced by Fritz Hansen at the Danish
Museum of Art & Design in 1957. Later that year, the
chair was displayed at the Triennale in Milan where it
received the Grand Prix – the finest distinction of the
exhibition.
Additionally, Gut Oggau has produced 120 bottles of red wine to mark the collaboration with Fritz Hansen, each with its own label designed by Vald. The bottles represent the story of a shared respect for nature and artisanal skills.
Gut Oggau has been revolutionising wine since 2007. Using biodynamic practices, meticulously caring for both the soil and the vines, the Austrian vineyard and winery grows wines that celebrate the vitality of life and embody the unique expression of the region.

The collaboration will launch in November 2021 in Copenhagen, Austria, Tokyo, New York and Seoul. Neither the wine nor chairs will be for sale, but both can be explored across select stores and events in each of the aforementioned cities.
