Canvas

GENERAL INFORMATION

Canvas is a heavy-duty, plain-weave textile typically made from cotton or linen. Natural canvas from plain-woven linen is used on Fritz Hansen’s Poul Kjærholm furniture.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Vacuum weekly on low to medium power with a soft brush nozzle.

CLEANING & STAIN REMOVAL

Remove wet stains by carefully dabbing with a lint-free cloth or sponge wrung in warm, detergent-free water. Do not rub as this can damage the fibres and cause discolouration. For persistent stains, use a powder-based cleaning product. Follow the packaging instructions after pre-testing on an inconspicuous area of the furniture to determine if colour bleeds or the fabric changes in any way.

CAUTION

Sharp objects can damage canvas and non-colourfast clothing can cause permanent discolouration. Avoid placing in direct sunlight for extended periods of time or close to heat sources.
