Room for Imagination

Since 1872, Fritz Hansen has been crafting extraordinary design that transforms the everyday into something special. By continuously pushing the boundaries of design and craftsmanship we shape a world for those who wish to be inspired, intrigued and surprised.

Our furniture, lighting and interior accessories of exceptional quality are curated in a series of immersive environments inspired by moments in life — from the final minutes getting ready before guests arrive for dinner to the contemplative calm of late nights alone with a good book. The result is imaginative spaces created to give room for imagination. We invite you to step out of the ordinary and enter our world of unique beauty.

Welcome to the world of Fritz Hansen.

The result of the latest collaboration between Fritz Hansen and Jaime Hayon, the Lounge Chair JH97 strikes the perfect balance between past and future, making lounging a new art form.

Perfectly proportioned with a solid frame available in natural oak, stained oak and black ash – the open, low-slung silhouette has a contemporary feel despite its classic roots. Elegant from every angle, the decorative joints with gently rounded edges are assembled by hand in a nod to Danish heritage designs and craftsmanship tradition.

Exaggerated armrests – wide and flat – embrace and support the body, as does the curved backrest, angled in an upright position for comfort when sitting for prolonged periods of time. Enhancing the laid-back feel, generously sized cushions are upholstered with detachable covers in textile or leather, allowing you to easily change the expression.

The latest addition to Fritz Hansen’s Planner™ collection of furniture and design objects, our new shelving series brings life to forever modern design with multifunctional appeal.

Designed in the 1950s by the late Paul McCobb – widely recognised as a pioneer of contemporary democratic design – Planner™ Shelving is a series of units to show and stow objects.

“Planner™ Shelving balances Paul McCobb’s signature graphic expression with Fritz Hansen’s classical craftsmanship skills,” says Christian Andresen, Head of Design at Fritz Hansen, on the new addition. “It’s elegant in its simplicity, yet it unashamedly commands attention in a room.”

Casting a warm, ambient glow, Fritz Hansen’s newest addition to the Planner™ family is a simple and small lamp that makes a big impact.

Our Planner™ series of relaunched designs from the 1950s by the late American designer Paul McCobb gains a new member this season: the Planner™ PM02 table lamp.

Proving that simple can be beautiful, the thoughtful, practical design emits diffused light from its hand-blown frosted glass shade to create a warm, atmospheric glow. Minimal in its expression, the lamp sits on a three-legged base in reflective brass or matte powder-coated steel to provide an elegant contrast to the tall, cylindrical shade.

The Drop™ chair

Now with a splash of colour

Sometimes all it takes is a splash of colour to breathe new life into a design icon. Fritz Hansen’s beloved Drop™ chair is updated in four fresh shades, perfect for a new generation of design enthusiasts.

In addition to classic black and white, the Drop™ chair is now offered in a sophisticated mid-grey hue, as well as three timeless-yet-now shades: blushing Millennial Pink, sunny Gen Z Yellow and calming If In Doubt, Blue. The new colours bring more options to interior design, allowing you to create multi-hued or colour-block arrangements around a dining table, or single splashes of bright colours in a home office or hallway.

New textile

by Fritz Hansen
Proudly presenting Christianshavn - Fritz Hansen textile. To explain the name we have to go back. Way back to where it all began. The history of Fritz Hansen began in 1872, where the enterprising cabinetmaker Fritz Hansen obtained a trade license in Copenhagen. 1885 was a significant year, when he started a furniture production company of his own and two years later he had managed to establish a flourishing workshop in Christianshavn – a central part of Copenhagen.
