A LAVISH HALL MARKED WITH PERSONAL TOUCHES

Reborn from the bones of a former bank, Axelborg Hall is a lavish conference hall located in Nimb Hotel in Copenhagen’s Tivoli Gardens. With room for up to 450 people, the hall is clad in high wooden panelling and features two grand staircases and a towering glass ceiling.

In 2019, the decision was made to upgrade the conference hall’s tables and chairs to better suit Nimb's design values. It was important to find something durable and timeless that would complement the impressive space and create a red thread throughout the space.

Fritz Hansen designs are already heavily ingrained in Nimb’s DNA, so their collaboration felt natural. With a helping hand from Fritz Hansen’s architects, the decision fell on the Series 7™ chair in a unique combination of matte black and wood. ‘Nimb’ is inscribed on the back of the chair in gold lettering to add a personal touch.

Designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1955, the Series 7 is an icon in modern furniture history. The chair is light and elegant yet fits perfectly into the impressive space characterised by dark hardwood and high ceilings.
