Looking to rethink ways of working post pandemic, attracting staff back to the office after months spent at home, the company turned to Resonate and Pi Group to redesign their U.K. headquarters to accommodate changing work requirements.
Encased in floor-to-ceiling glass windows, the well-lit office in London’s iconic centre was brought up to speed to support the shift from fixed work stations and private offices to a more communal way of working, moving away from the traditional office layout to a more hybrid model befitting both individual projects and collegial collaboration.
Thinking in terms of efficiency and employee experience, the expansive space has been reimagined with a central hub to bring together the working community in much the same way a town hall is a gathering point for its residents. Focusing on social interaction as well as work, the key to the success of the space is its accessibility and comforts, as much as its use of sustainable products and finishes.
To enhance worker experience, inspiring productivity without feeling too corporate, Fritz Hansen’s Little Giraffe™ and Ro™ chairs were selected for their long-lasting design, both in terms of materials and aesthetics, as well as their comfort.
Custom-finished Jaime Hayon’s Ro™ lounge chairs for Fritz Hansen line the large glass windows to create comfortable nooks for informal meetings, solitary tasks and breaks from work. In bespoke plaid upholstery, the embracing form of the Little Giraffe™, a chair designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1959 for the restaurant at Copenhagen’s SAS Royal Hotel, offers flexible and functional comfort at co-working stations, delivering streamlined moveability thanks to a five-star swivel base.
Impactful from the minute one steps inside, the thoughtful design and fluid lines of the furniture lend a warm and welcoming feel to the space.
